Raising an item from +10 to +15

Every item in MU has a level, written next to the name: +1, +7, +13. The higher it is, the more damage or more defence it gives.

Up to +9 you raise it with jewels, used directly on the item, in the inventory: a Jewel of Soul raises one level at a time. From +9 onwards, only in the Chaos Machine — and from there on each step is a bet.

The table

Each line is a separate mix. To get to +15 you make six bets, one after the other.

Raises to Item that goes in Jewel of Chaos Jewel of Bless Jewel of Soul Zen Chance
+10 +9 1 1 1 2,000 60%
+11 +10 1 2 2 4,000 60%
+12 +11 1 3 3 6,000 50%
+13 +12 1 4 4 8,000 50%
+14 +13 1 5 5 10,000 40%
+15 +14 1 6 6 12,000 100%

Any type of item works: weapon, armour, wings. There is no minimum character level — a level 1 character can use the machine.

Adding up your real chance

The chance in the table is the starting one. Two things add on top:

+20 points if the item has Luck. That alone changes the game. A Luck item at +13 goes from 40% to 60% on the next step — the same chance as a +9.

+5, +10 or +15 points from your VIP (Silver, Gold, Diamond).

A whole example, so no doubt is left:

Item +13 with Luck, Gold account. 40% from the table + 20 from Luck + 10 from VIP = 70% chance of becoming +14.

What you lose when it fails

With no protection at all: you lose everything. The item is gone, the jewels are gone, the zen already went. If the item had socket spheres mounted, they are removed first and go too.

With a Talisman of Chaos Assembly in the mix: the item survives and goes back to +0. It keeps Luck, Skill, additional option, excellent, ancient and sockets — only the level drops. Everything else in the box is destroyed, the talisman included.

Going back to +0 is expensive, but it is repairable: from +0 to +9 you climb with Jewel of Soul. An item that vanished does not come back.

Where to get the Talisman of Chaos Assembly: nowhere, today. It is in no shop, drops from no monster and comes from no quest. The one intended path is the Lucky Coin exchange with Delgado, in Devias: 10 coins open the Lucky Coin 1 bag and 20 open Lucky Coin 2, and the talisman is one of 126 prizes in each — under 1% per exchange. Except the Lucky Coin itself has no source on the server: it drops from nothing, is sold nowhere and comes out of no bag. Until that changes, treat the talisman as non-existent.

And, again, because it is the most common mistake: the Jewel of Guardian protects nothing here.

The order that costs least

Two things are worth doing before you start raising:

  1. Put the Luck on first. Twenty points of chance per step, across six steps, is the difference between spending a fortune and spending two.
  2. Do not count on a talisman. The Talisman of Chaos Assembly has no source on the server today (see above), so from +13 onwards you are risking the item for real: when it fails, it is gone. Climb only as far as you accept losing.

The additional option is not done here

The +4 / +8 / +12 that shows next to the level is another thing: it is the additional option, and it does not come from the Chaos Machine. It comes from the Jewel of Life, used directly on the item, in the inventory.

  • Chance: 50%. VIP does not help here — it is the only improvement in the game it does not enter.
  • Cost: none.
  • On failure, the item does not vanish and does not drop a level. The additional option goes back to zero: you lose what you had accumulated in option, and nothing more. It is the safest improvement there is.
  • Limit: 7 option levels, the same for weapon, armour and wings.

Works on: weapons, shields, helms, armours, pants, gloves, boots, wings and capes.

Does not work on: rings, pendants, pets, jewels, potions and any item with an expiry date.
