Wings

Wings go in the back slot. They give damage and defence bonuses, they let the character fly — and in MU they are the fastest way to look at someone and know how far that person has got.

There are three generations. Each is made from the previous one, in the Chaos Machine, and every step is dearer and less likely than the one below.

One important difference before you start

In the machine's other recipes the chance is fixed: 60% means 60%. For wings it is not. The chance is worked out from the value of what you put inside — the better the items you throw in, the higher the chance. The screen shows the number before you click; always check it.

That has the two obvious sides: you buy your own chance, and you lose everything you bought when it fails. And one less obvious side:

The VIP bonus only counts on the first-generation wing. From the second one onward, Condor Feather included, it does not apply.

First generation

What goes in 1 Jewel of Chaos + 1 Chaos weapon at +4 or more, with an additional option
Zen the chance × 10
Chance from the value of what is in the box, + VIP
On failure you lose everything

A Chaos weapon is one of three: Chaos Dragon Axe, Chaos Nature Bow or Chaos Lightning Staff. They come out of the Chaos Machine themselves.

How to raise the chance. The box has 32 slots and everything in it counts:

  • any item at +4 with an additional option — worth its price;
  • a loose Jewel of Bless — each is worth about +5 points of chance;
  • a loose Jewel of Soul — about +3.5 points each;
  • extra Jewels of Chaos — about +2 points each.

It is the cheapest recipe to push near 100%, and the only one where loose jewels help. All of it is consumed if it fails.

One of these three comes out, at random: Wings of Elf, Wings of Heaven, Wings of Satan. You do not pick which. The wing you get depends on luck, not on your class — and yes, that means you can get a wing you cannot use.

The wing can be born better: 20% chance of Luck, and 12% of coming with a +4 option, 6% with +8, 3% with +12.

Second generation

What goes in 1 Jewel of Chaos + 1 Loch's Feather + 1 first-generation wing
Zen 5,000
Chance from the value of the wing plus any excellents you add — cap of 90%
On failure you lose everything

The box is stricter here: only an excellent item at +4 or more counts as a booster. Loose jewels do not help in this recipe.

One of these four comes out, at random: Wings of Spirits, Wings of Soul, Wings of Dragon, Wings of Darkness. Again, no choosing.

These can be born excellent: a 20% chance of coming with an excellent option, on top of the same 20% Luck.

The cape, in the same recipe

Swap the Loch's Feather for a level 1 Loch's Feather and the same mix produces a cape instead of a wing — same price, same chance.

On this server that is the Cape of Lord, the Dark Lord's cape.

Third generation

The third generation is not one mix. It is two, and the first only exists to feed the second.

Step 1 — Condor Feather

What goes in 1 Jewel of Chaos + 1 Jewel of Creation + 1 pack of 10 Jewel of Soul + 1 second-generation wing or cape, at +9, with an additional option + at least 1 ancient item at +7 with an additional option
Zen the chance × 200 — at the cap, 12,000
Chance from the value of the ancients — cap of 60%
On failure you lose everything, the second-generation wing included

Read the failure line again. This is the mix that hurts most in the whole game: you are putting a second-generation wing at +9 into a bet that, in the best possible case, is 60%.

Step 2 — the wing

What goes in 1 Jewel of Chaos + 1 Jewel of Creation + 1 pack of 10 Jewel of Soul + 1 pack of 10 Jewel of Bless + 1 Condor Flame + 1 Condor Feather + at least 1 excellent item at +9 with an additional option
Zen the chance × 200 — at the cap, 8,000
Chance from the value of the excellents — cap of 40%
On failure you lose everything

Forty per cent is the maximum. No VIP, no Luck and no item gets past it. Anyone with a third-generation wing on this server failed several times first.

One of these five comes out, at random: Wing of Storm, Wing of Eternal, Wing of Illusion, Wing of Ruin, Cape of Emperor.

Where to find the three pieces that do not drop just anywhere

Piece Where Chance
Loch's Feather Icarus 0.10% per kill
Condor Flame the Pouch of Blessing, in the invasion that runs every four hours roughly 1 in 87 per pouch opened
Ancient item at +7 Land of Trials, or Medusa see ancient sets

Condor Flame is also on the Barracks table — but Barracks has no open entrance today. The only source that works is the invasion: ten Pouches of Blessing spawn in Lost Tower, Atlans, Tarkan, Aida, Kanturu 1 and Raklion, at 02:05, 06:05, 10:05, 14:05, 18:05 and 22:05. Each pouch hands out one item drawn from a list of 87, and Condor Flame is one of them.
